Suspicious Mail Identification and Response Training for Election Offices/Officials/1st Responders  MAKE UP TRAINING OPPORTUNITY for All Districts.

  • Following the mailing of envelopes containing Fentanyl to Election Offices in 6 different states in November 2023 and the recent mailings to Secretary of State offices in at least 15 states, including Iowa, Safeguard Iowa is working with our local Emergency Management Agency partners to bring an in-person/hybrid version (via ZOOM) of our Suspicious Mail Identification and Response Training for Election Offices/Officials/1st Responders prior to the upcoming 2024 Elections. The training will be coming to Tama County and a virtual Make-up date for all HSEMD/IEMA Districts on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 10 AM CST.
  • The targeted audience for this training is the Auditor and staffs of local election and political offices, elected officials, political candidates, Emergency Management, local First Responders, and anyone who may be involved with handling the response to a suspicious or dangerous mail incident.
