Suspicious Mail Identification and Response Training for Election Offices/Officials/1st Responders for Madison County and the Surrounding Counties in IEMA District 4

• Following the mailing of envelopes containing Fentanyl to Election Offices in 6 different states in November 2023, Safeguard Iowa is working with our local Emergency Management Agency partners to bring an in-person/hybrid version (via ZOOM) of our Suspicious Mail Identification and Response Training for Election Offices/Officials/1st Responders prior to the upcoming 2024 Elections. The training will be coming to Madison and the surrounding counties in HSEMD/IEMA District 4 on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 1 PM CST.

• The targeted audience for this training is the Auditor and staffs of local election and political offices, elected officials, political candidates, Emergency Management, local First Responders, and anyone who may be involved with handling the response to a suspicious or dangerous mail incident.
