Lunch & Learn with Crisis Canines of the Midlands - Polk County Emergency Operations Center

Polk County Emergency Management Agency would like to extend an invitation to all of our partners to join us on Tuesday, February 27, from 11:30A to 12:30P at the Polk County Emergency Operations Center for a special Lunch & Learn with Crisis Canines of the Midlands.

These specially trained Crisis Canines are a growing part of Critical Incident Stress Management teams and the recovery process after an incident.
 
Battalion Chief Justin Smith of the Knoxville, IA fire department, along with his wife Rebecca have founded the non-profit Crisis Canines of the Midlands, and are not only helping to respond with their canines in Central Iowa, but to grow the number of departments with their own canine members.
