At the time of year when it is traditional to look to the past while anticipating the future, our program will review the development of emergency management over several decades and what we can learn from this history to inform further development in the decades to come.
Our guest will be Claire B. Rubin, noted emergency management researcher and President of Claire B. Rubin & Associates. Ms. Rubin is the author of the book Emergency Management: The American Experience 1900-2005, which she is in the process of updating for publication in the near future. The companion Century Timeline graphically illustrates the interplay of events and policymaking that have brought us to where we are today.
Please make plans to join us, and see the Background Page for related materials and Instructions. If this will be your first time to participate, please check your connection at least a day in advance by clicking on the Live Meeting Login link. The Live Meeting client must be used in order to access the audio.
As always, please feel free to extend this invitation to your colleagues.
