FEMA All-Hazards Situation Unit Leader Course (L-964)

DATE: May 2nd 2016 through May 6th 2016

This course helps participants establish the essential core competencies required for performing the duties of the Situation Unit Leader (SIT-L) in an All-Hazards incident. This course addresses all responsibilities appropriate to an SIT-L operating in local- or State-level All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities include processing information and intelligence and developing displays. The course is an instructor-led training that supports learning through discussion, lecture, and active participation in multiple exercises. By requiring participants to bring an SIT-L Kit to the instruction, the course provides a realistic, hands-on approach to mastering the skills of
an SIT-L.

Pre-requisites: ICS IS100, IS200, IS700 & IS800; ICS face to face 300 level classes.

Target Audience: Emergency Management Agencies, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, Law
Enforcement, Public Health, Public Works, NGO’s, and others desiring to achieve effective local incident management capability proficiency in an all hazards environment.

Course Location: Johnson County EOC 4529 Melrose Avenue, Iowa City, IA. 52246

Class Time: 0800 – 1700 (8 AM – 5 PM) with breaks & off site lunch

Cost of the Course is free. Lunch is on your own. Travel & Lodging are the participant’s responsibility. Class is limited to the first 30 people.
